We have $2073.01 in the checking account and $1614.53 dollars in the savings account.  There is several checks still out at this time.  Merle Gulbranson made a motion to accept the treasurer report with JP second the motion.  Motion carried.

OLD BUSINESS:
There was a discussion on the day conference hosted by District I in Watertown.  Speakers were Judith Simon Prager and Dawn Bidwell.  

Discussion about a PHTLS/PEEP class for the future.  There will be a PHTLS class held by Larry Richard—Instructor on the Wednesday before the state conference and another instructor class possible in Watertown in January 15th-16th.  More discussion at conference.
 There will be a basic refresher class in November 12-14th.  Plans to hold this refresher in the community center in Colman.
 PEEP class will be discussed at conference at the end of October.
 Plans are in the making for a Search and Rescue class in June on 2005.

 NEW BUSINESS:
           
The state office purchased a new computer for Ted—State Treasurer.
           
The state will supply each district with a new LCD projector.
           
There are 1700 members in the state of South Dakota with only 1100 paying dues.
            There will be a telephone solicitation process as a fundraiser for the EMS of South Dakota.  South Dakota EMS will receive 12% of the profits.
            Discussion on Comfort I-DNR, which was discussed as the State Executive Council, is for patient’s medical care.
            District I will be sending a plant to Monica Freeze due to a recent illness.  This motion made by Ted Ellingson and seconded by Merle with the motion carried.
            Motion made by Merle and second by JP to pay for all the meals at this Annual Meeting at Pizza Ranch.  Motion carried after no discussion.
            District I officers are planning to sponsor a motion at Executive Council at the state conference that only top name speakers for the conference in 2005 as this is the 30th anniversary.  A motion made by JP, seconded by Pam that we concentrate on past national speakers from past conferences such as:   Baxter Larmon;   Stephen Murphy;   Charlie Miller;                        Dawn Bidwell;     Steve Yarberry      
           
District I will nominate Joe Schnell for State EMT of the Year at the 2004 State Conference.  Motion made by Merle with a second by Ann to nominate Joe. 
No discussion, motioned carried.   Motion made by Merle and second by JP to purchase the plaque for Joe from District I.  No discussion, motion carried.  Merle will order the plaque from Brookings Engraving.  Congratulations Joe!

            Motion by Merle, second by Pam to adjourn the Annual Meeting.  Motion carried after no discussion.
            Joe Schnell presented a program on the Jump Start Algorithm for triage.
           
The next meeting will be held at the State Conference in Rapid City in October.
